This article will explain how a personal trainer can assist and make cardiac rehabilitation a much better success! And aims to reverse limitations experienced by patients who have suffered the adverse path of physiologic and psychological consequences of cardiac events. Cardiovascular disorders are the leading cause of mortality and morbidity in the industrialized world, the numbers are very extreme accounting for almost 50% of all deaths and climbing annually.

The survivors constitute an additional reservoir of cardiovascular disease morbidity. In the United States alone, over 15 million people suffer from some form of coronary artery disease (CAD) or its complications, including congestive heart failure (CHF) or arrhythmias. Of this number, approximately 1 to 1.5 million survivors of acute myocardial infarction (MI), as well as the more than 350,000 patients who undergo coronary bypass surgery annually, are candidates for the cardiac rehabilitation program. And implementing a personal trainer would be very beneficial but the cost for this service at this point would come from the patient.

Total Body Phase Programs:

The Total Body Phase Programs which are very Safe & Effective based on Tempo training with the Eccentric and Concentric moves timed and built on each of the patient's safe maximum heart rate out put capacity and the program can be done in about 17 minutes, if they wish. But most importantly they will be increasing their energy levels and feeling more confident about themselves, in turn giving themselves independence quicker. And they will really achieve this through a Holistic approach of Mind, Body & Spirit to target 5 major different and important concepts to train by, to help people Mentally & Physically become one unit, which is the best anyone can be at what ever phase level they are at through:

- Flexibility Training

- Endurance Training

- Strength Training

- Posture Training

- Core Training

They would wear a HR monitor so that the personal trainer can learn their bodies and how it reacts at certain points of exercising, and at the same time they also will educate them selves.

Through testing the patients at the end of 6 months it produced numbers that were very powerful with positive feed back, showing not just physically but also mentally some very beneficial results to implementing a 1 to 1 personal trainer and programs, for people doing cardiac rehabilitation and continuing in the future to stay healthy and be more physically active instead of falling off the band wagon.

Whether a patient has 10 pounds to lose or 100, the new program will adjust his or her body metabolically so that they burn fat and calories regularly, as well caters to their Healthy Lifestyle by giving them lasting effects that they will be able to maintain with little assistance. The personal trainer will achieve this by using Simple resistance bands and weights, combined with the most effective moves in a 17 minute workout. As we know if a cardiac heart patient is over weight they are already in some major trouble and if they are diabetic losing only 20 pounds is a massive improvement lowering their Insulin. And this Total Body Phase Programs will do just that because it will not only work with Endurance training because the Heart is a muscle, but also Strength training the body as this will increase lean muscle tissue through the tearing in a good way of your fast and slow twitch muscle fibers, which means they will burn calories while sitting down watching T.V. or doing nothing at all! And when they train a little the fat burning process increases 10 fold. The results can be almost magical!

The 17 minute program can be easily extended longer depending on what phase the cardiac rehabilitation patient is at, so they will be accommodated accordingly. The idea of this program is for cardiac rehabilitation patients to be able to do this type of exercising without getting bored or overly tired.

It would be a great idea for the Government to pay maybe half or something per session and absorb the cost of implementing a 1 to 1 personal trainer for cardiac rehabilitation patients to live a healthier and active lifestyle. It should be in the Governments best interest to promote cardiac rehabilitation, beyond the physical and psychological benefits, it can also save a huge amount of money. As Cardiac bypass surgery, the most common type of open-heart surgery, costs approximately $23,000 for each patient, but rehabilitation costs $1,000-1,500 per patient.
